Today is...

The release of the sixth season of Grey's Anatomy on DVD! Woot Woot! I love Grey's Anatomy and all of the messy drama that goes along with it so to celebrate that love this post is all about my favorite Grey's Anatomy things!

The original cast will always be my favorite. But I do love all of the new additions.

At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy. That's how we're made. So, you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them.

I love Meredith and Derek. I especially love that they are finally together for good.

OK, Here it is. Your choice, it's simple. Her or me. And I'm sure she's really great. But Derek.. I love you. In a really really big pretend to like your taste in music let you eat the last piece of cheesecake hold a radio over my head outside your window unfortunate way that makes me hate you love you.
So pick me. Choose me. Love me. - Meredith to Derek

I love Christina and Meredith's friendship. They are each other's person. No matter what.

I could promise to hold you, and to cherish you. I could promise to be there, in sickness and in health. I could say till death do us part. But I won't. Those vows are for optimistic couples, the ones full of hope. I do not stand here on my wedding day optimistic or full of hope. I am not optimistic. I am not hopeful. I am sure. I am steady. I'm a heart man. Take 'em apart, put 'em back together, hold them in my hands. I am a heart man. So this, I am sure. You are my partner. My lover. My very best friend. My heart. MY HEART beats for you. And on this day, the day of our wedding, I promise you this. I promise you to lay my heart in the palm of your hands, I promise you, me. - Burke's wedding vows for Christina

I love Christina's enthusiasm and desire for knowledge and to be number one. It's kind of inspiring.

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.

Bailey. She is the soul of the show. It really wouldn't be the same without her.

Maybe we accept the dream has become a nightmare. We tell ourselves that reality is better. We convince ourselves it's better that we never dream at all. But, the strongest of us, the most determined of us, holds on to the dream or we find ourselves faced with a fresh dream we never considered. We wake to find ourselves, against all odds... feeling hopeful. And, if we're lucky, we realize in the face of everything, in the face of life- the true dream is being able to dream at all.

Fall Wishlist

Even though it is still 90+ degrees outside.. it is FINALLY September which technically counts as Fall. All we are missing is the cool and comfy weather and orange and red leaves! To celebrate this new and glorious (can you sense that I don't like the summer heat?) season here are a few things that are on my Fall wishlist!

1. JCrew Bayberry Washed Wool Scarf
in dark plum

2. Hobo International "Lauren"
in pumpkin

3. Steve Madden "Caryssa" Pump
in black suede

4. JCrew Matchstick denim
in dark rinse

5. Balenciaga "City" bag
in black

Okay okay, number 5 is a bit of a stretch for my budget but hey, a girl can wish!

It's Been Awhile..

Well.. it has been quite a long time since I last blogged and I am trying to regain motivation and inspiration to make this a steady thing. Since my last post was in June, a lot of time has passed!

July was spent mostly working and stealing time to spend at the beach to retain what little of my summer tan I still have. BB and I went to a Donovan Frankenreiter concert at the HOB July 9 which was a lot of fun and very relaxing. My sisters went to Ambassador Camp which is their most favorite time of the year. I also spent a lot of time with our new puppy Bella. She is a French Brittany Spaniel and the cutest thing in the world!

August brought the end of summer and the big move back the Raleigh to resume classes. My best friend who I have posted about before, Adri, was in a pageant at the beginning of August. She looked absolutely amazing and I am still puzzled as to why she didn't receive a crown? Oh well, it just wasn't meant to be and there is a better plan for her ahead! I have left NCSU and am now a student at WTCC doing my prerequisites to get into the nursing program. In my first post I wrote about being stressed from school and not knowing which direction I should go but this summer lead me to choose the nursing program which ultimately I feel is the best decision I have made in all 4 years of college. The only downside is that I seem to feel that I have wasted hours and course credits and money that won't go towards my progress in the program. But on the other side of things, I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't gone through all of those trials and tribulations. Long story short, this semester is proving successful and I already feel like I am right where I need to be. I am only taking 2 courses this semester because I only need 5 courses total until I can apply to the actual nursing program. So the next 4 months will be filled with Anatomy and Physiology and Developmental Psychology.

September so far has brought a long weekend with the Labor Day holiday and the best thing of the fall, college football! NCSU had their first game Sept. 4 against Western Carolina and WON with a score of 48-7. It was a great day spent tailgating with old friends and family and it just felt like home being back at Carter-Finley Stadium. The absolute BEST part of September so far is that the weather is cooling down! Maybe temporarily but it is a welcome change to the sweltering temperatures we have had all summer. Being back in the city makes it even more miserably hot because there is no ocean breeze to cool things down!
